Policyholders can be either full or part time but must be aged between 21 and 84 inclusive.
Additional drivers whether related or not must be either your spouse/common law spouse-business partner-full or part time employees. Temporary and/or casual drivers cannot be accommodated.
It is important to remember that if your extra driver is described by you as an employee they must be employed legally. If you cannot provide evidence of their employment at the time of an incident then your claim may not be met.
All drivers must hold a current full UK driving licence and have passed their driving test at least 12 months ago – in special circumstances we can accommodate people with a licence just under 12 months but this is at the discretion of the underwriters.
If you have any of the following issues we can still usually provide a quotation:
- Driving Convictions and bans
- Criminal convictions
- Accident and claim history
- Disabilities
- High performance/Value cars
Young Drivers
If you are aged between 18 and 24 you will find it increasingly difficult to obtain affordable motor trade road risks insurance.
It is a fact that the single male aged under 25 presents the worst risk possible for an insurance company and this is especially so when sports and/or performance vehicles become involved.
Claims figures prove this fact and as a direct result of this only a very small number of insurers are prepared to offer any cover and it usually comes at a price that is too high for many.
What follows is a brief summary of the cover available through Network Trade Insurance Services Ltd along with the various policy restrictions that will apply.
If you answer our questions honestly you will be provided with a policy that suits both your needs and your pocket, do not assume that we don’t need to know something you will be surprised what can affect your policy. Let us know everything and we will do the rest.
